Katie makes some of my favorite paints and being part of her hive on Patreon for more than the past year has been awesome. She really connects with members of the community, whether it's for feedback or to develop ideas that are community driven. Her paint is among the very best handmade watercolors I've tried, and I've tried a lot of makers and paints. The paint is consistently high quality, very pigmented, wonderful colors, and easy to activate. She also includes pigment information on all her colors, and she is so creative in choosing new mixed and single pigment colors. She has trained as a chemist and brings great knowledge about pigments and paint to her making and also blogging. If you're considering the hive, please do, I am sure you will be grateful you did.

FAQ

The Beehive has tiers for all budgets! Whether you want to try small sample pans of the colours, collect traditional half pans, or build a curated honeycomb selection, there is something for everyone.

Prices start at £7 a month.

This is done so that you can make your first payment straight away, with the subscription then beginning on the 1st of the month. You don’t make both payments upon sign-up.

This depends upon what tier you choose. The “base” tiers include 2 pans of paint, a sample dot card with the remaining 5 palette colours, and 3 samples of watercolour paper to try out your new colours on.

You also get a beautiful print by Carrie Rogers Art of the package theme.

For a little more each month, you get the full seven-coloured palette, the paper samples/art print mentioned above, and an additional hand-made supply. These have included print-outs, ceramic pans, stencils, and more!

This is a bimonthly subscription, with your happy mail being sent out after the second of the two payments has been made. So if you sign up in January, your packages will be sent out in February, April, June, August etc.

If you sign up in February, your packages will be sent out in March, May, July, September etc.

Yes! If you cancel after one payment has been made, you will receive a half-package.

Well… nothing is ever certain, however the joy of the subscription is pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Whilst the hue may not be quite what you prefer, I guarantee the paint will be of top quality, and will last you a long time.

Currently, you will need to cancel your previous subscription and resubscribe under the new tier. I am happy to refund any overages this may cause.

I aim to send out all rewards by the 15th of the second month, however this can vary due to a few factors – sometimes the paints simply take longer to cure! You will get a notification when they have despatched however, and domestic subscribers will receive their paints within 2-3 working days, and international subscribers between 7 and 10 working days.

You will be emailed the code upon signing up, but if you forget it, just get in touch and I can send it to you <3
